Term 2, 2019 saw the introduction of Remote Kindergarten to our school. Now known as State Delivered Kindergarten, or SDK, we are very proud to be able to offer kindergarten through to year 6 now at our school.
Our school community is proud and dedicated to the educational improvement of all our students and works positively towards making our school the very best that it can be. Parents willingly support the school in a variety of ways - attending P&C meetings to make important decisions about school events and priorities. Our school has community volunteers who enjoy being involved and helping in classrooms.
Chillagoe State School has a rich and interesting history. The local population increased in Chillagoe in the early 1900s, due to mining enterprises in the district. In 1909, Chillagoe State School had more than 180 students enrolled. The original school building is situated directly across from our present day location on Cathedral Street.
Chillagoe State School promotes traditional values in our students. We believe that inclusive education is a basic right of all, human endeavour is valuable, striving towards a personal goal is important and success should always be celebrated. Students are encouraged to Be Safe, Be A Learner, Be Respectful.
Together We Succeed.
